Hollywood superstar Nicole Kidman is the latest big name applying for residency in Portugal – with plans to move into what has been dubbed the ‘Hamptons of Portugal’.
The actor, who recently separated from her husband, the musician Keith Urban, has long been reported to be interested in buying a property an hour south of Lisbon within the exclusive Costaterra Golf and Ocean Club, close to Comporta.
The star of the likes of Moulin Rouge, Far and Away and Eyes Wide Shut, is reported to have lodged her application for residency in July, attending in person to sign the necessary documentation.
She already has a string of properties across the US and Australia.
If she makes the move, she’ll be in good company. Other A-list stars already owning properties at the luxury development include the likes of George Clooney and Duke and Duchess of Sussex – Prince Harry and Megan.
Her desire to relocate once again underlines Portugal’s appeal to the affluent seeking the high quality of life the country offers.
